Emirates Introduces Convenient Bag Drop and Check-In Options for Passengers in Dubai
Emirates Airlines has launched a new City Check-in and Travel Store in the ICD Brookfield Place in Dubai's financial district. Passengers are now able to drop off their baggage between four and twenty-four hours prior to their scheduled flight, thereby simplifying the airport experience.
Travelers can check in anytime between 8 am to 10 pm daily, using self-check-in kiosks, dedicated desks with Emirates agents, or a check-in robot assistant called Sara. The robot is a portable cyber check-in system that can match faces with scanned passports, check passengers in, and guide them to the luggage drop area.
Emirates is turning to technology to reduce check-in times and enhance efficiency. The airline announced last month that it would introduce multilingual robots to speed up passenger check-ins at Dubai International Airport.
Locally developed check-in robots will be introduced over the next two months, and more than 200 units are planned over the next two years.
This facility will make air travel more convenient for passengers during the busy summer holiday season. Dubai International Airport more than doubled its annual passenger traffic last year, exceeding its forecast and retaining the world's busiest international airport title for the ninth consecutive year.
